1. Casino Royale:

For many, this was the role that introduced the world to Eva Green. Proxima is a 2019 French drama movie that follows Eva Green’s character, Sarah, a French astronaut training at the Space Centre in Cologne. The movie is centered around the relationship between Sarah and her 7-year-old daughter, showing Sarah’s guilt that she is unable to spend more time with her daughter. The relationship between mother and daughter becomes even more strained after Sarah is selected to be part of a year-long space mission known as Proxima. While Proxima may not have made a huge mark worldwide, it was almost universally praised by those who had indeed seen the movie. Critics praised the movie for its ability to explore various themes to a satisfying, while also praising Green in her role as Sarah, with some critics suggesting it is the best performance of her career.

2015’s The Salvation is a thrilling western directed by Kristian Levring and starring Eva Green, Mads Mikkelsen, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The film follows Mikkelsen’s character as he triggers a tornado of carnage in the wild-west to get revenge for the murders of his wife and son. The film received positive reviews from critics, with many praising the movie for its stellar take on the western genre, as well as for the performances of Mikkelsen and Green.

Starring Ewan McGregor and Eva Green, Perfect Sense follows two individuals who form a close romantic bond during the end of the world. The film has an interesting pandemic concept with equally interesting and strong performances from both Green and McGregor. Despite winning the Edinburgh Film Festival’s prize for Best New British Feature, the movie would go on to receive mixed reviews from critics, with many believing that the film did not reach its full potential.

8. White Bird In A Blizzard

White Bird in a Blizzard is a 2014 art drama thriller film co-produced, written, directed, and edited by Gregg Araki and starring Shailene Woodley, Eva Green, and Christopher Meloni. Based on the novel of the same name by Laura Kasischke, the film follows several years in the life of teenager Katrina “Kat” Connors (Woodley), beginning on the day her mother, Eve (Green), disappeared and the effect this event has on her and the people of her life, frequently alternating between the present time and flashbacks. The film premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2014, before being given a limited theatrical release on October 24, 2014.

9. Dumbo

A young circus elephant is born with comically large ears and given the cruel nickname Dumbo. One day at a show, he is taunted by a group of kids, inciting his mother into a rage that gets her locked up. After Dumbo’s ears cause an accident that injures many of the other elephants, he is made to dress like a clown and perform dangerous stunts. Everything changes when Dumbo discovers that his enormous ears actually allow him to fly, and he astounds everyone at the circus with his new talent.

Based on a True Story, is a French-language film starring Eva Green and directed by the controversial, to say the least, Roman Polanksi. The film follows a best-selling author, played by Eva Green, who confides in a young woman named Elle after she becomes overwhelmed by the notion of writing again. Despite the fact that many critics praised the performances of the cast, with Eva Green, in particular, turning in a strong performance, the movie received mixed reviews from critics.
