Since 2020, Shea and Sy McGee help people on Netflix to transform their homes into their dream home. Allow me to introduce you to the cast members of the second season of ‘Dream Home Makeover’.
1 The Hansen Family
With a total of 22,000 square feet, the property of the Hansen family was one of Shea and Syd’s largest projects so far. Travis and LaRee Hansen are married for 20 years and bought a beautiful home together. You won’t believe it, but their property has not only seven bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms but an entire NBA regulation-size basketball court attached to their house. Definitely a big project for Shea and Syd. But let me introduce you to the Hansen family now. LaRee and Travis Hansen are married for 20 years. Travis played professional basketball for ten years, hence the basketball court. He played for the Atlanta Hawks, in Russia, and even in Madrid. Today, he is a successful entrepreneur. Together with his wife LaRee he built the non-profit organization ‘Sunshine Heroes’, which builds children centers around the world.
2 Omar and Josh
The next home belongs to Omar and Josh, a lovely couple from Mill Creek, which is south of Salt Lake. Together, they live in a mid-century home that was built in 1956. However, it’s only been three months since they bought it! The house comes with a little apartment off the back, which Omar and Josh want to transform into a beautiful mother-in-law suite. And that’s why they need Shea and Syd’s help. Omar and Josh have been together for seven years. Now, guess where they went for their first date. To a corn maze! But besides their love for extraordinary dates, they share their passion for mid-century modern design. You will find a lot of furniture of this exact design at their home. However, the reason why they decided to ask Shea and Syd for their help to renovate the little apartment in the backyard is not the happiest story. Omar’s mother cannot live on her own anymore. Therefore, Omar and Josh decided to take care of her and want her to move into the apartment.
3 Mandi and Bryce Winkelman
In Episode three Shea and Syd meet the lovely Winkelman family. Mandy and Bryce live in Lehi and have not two, three, or four children. No, they have six children, four of them are twins. Six years ago, the family moved into their beautiful home. Over the past couple of years, they did some renovation work. If you have that many children you need to make your home a little more functional. However, there is one big improvement left. Especially mother Mandi is not happy about this problem. And that’s the master bathroom. For six years, there was no door to the bathroom. And with six small children at home and no door you will hardly get any privacy. Luckily, Shea and Syd can help Mandi and Bryce out.
4 Madison and Nick
The next house for Shea and Syd’s makeover is the 111-year-old home of Madison and Nick. The house was built in 1908. Madison did not only grow up in that house, but she also made lots of memories there. Her grandma lived for more than 70 years in that house and her sister got married in the backyard. No wonder that Mandi loves her home so much! Over the past couple of years, Mandy and Nick did some renovation work to make the old house look a bit more modern. However, they need Shea and Syds help with their old kitchen. But luckily Shea and Syd are more than happy to help the parents and their three little children.
5 Shazia and Taylor
In Episode five, Shea and Syd travel into the wilderness where they meet Shazia and Taylor near Heber City. With their one-year-old daughter Lyla, Shea and Taylor live in an old house right in the nature. Can you believe that the home’s only heat source is an old fireplace? However, Shea and Syd assure us that they never get cold at home. Both of them love being in nature and going for a hike into the nearby mountains. Only one year ago, they lived in Salt Lake. Even if they loved the city feeling, they decided to leave the city after making a life-changing experience. One day, while sitting at the beach armed men with masks came running towards them and robbed them. That was when Shea and Syd decided to leave the city and to live in a safer place with their little daughter. Luckily, both of them can work remotely
8 Jessica and Tyler Stone
The last home of the second season of Dream House Makeover is located in the small town of Salem, 1.5 hours from Salt Lake. Here, Jessica and Tyler Stone and their two children need the help of Shea and Syd to renovate the master bedroom. 11 years ago, Jessica moved to Salem where she met Tyler. They have been together ever since. Now, Jessica wants to surprise her husband with a new master bedroom. But here comes the sad story: Just a few months ago, Tyler had a stroke at the age of 33. He had an operation and spent weeks in hospital and in rehab. Luckily, everything is slowly going back to normal. Now, Tyler is even back at work. The perfect time for Jessica to surprise her husband with a brand new master bedroom.

Blast in the past, that’s what this scene is all about. Stay with me when I tell you about the first scene that correlates with this one.
As soon as Daniel enters the tournament hall, he notices a Karate Kid poster. His name as the champion, his success after working with mister Miyagi, his compassion towards karate, everything runs before his eyes. Not to judge but I think he had the best fight with the worst injuries. Still, Mr. Miyagi has trained him enough not to let his DEFENCE DOWN. That’s how you do it! (I think I am teary-eyed but this flashback from the 1990s Karate Kid version is an exciting scene, no doubt)
Robbie synthesizes the impenetrable defense
I find this scene exciting because it is not only a scene but an everyday problem in schools, BULLY. Robbie was a victim of bullying at school and watching him stand up with impenetrable defense, there is nothing we could have asked for more than this. Technically speaking, I think Robbie finally showed Daniel he had the guts and the muscle power to withstand any incoming attack.
You grow kid, you grow and beat these bullies, so nobody calls out on you!
Another reason why this scene is exciting is for the appreciation he is getting. Through struggle and hard work, ROBBIE IS OUR BOY.
Bert gets his ass kicked
Bert showed no mercy when he started training with Johnny. Well, it wasn’t his fault, he was trained that way,
Strike Hard, Strike First, No Mercy
Remember this slogan from 1984 karate kid when Johnny’s trainer John Kreese taught him. But bert was shown no mercy in return too. He was taken down in just ONE ATTACK.
Few jumps here and there, Bert goes down. But we can appreciate his power to withstand the toughness that came his way.
The last scene is my favourite for so many reasons. It has charisma, power, friendship, care, and everything. It excites me to see people bonding after years of broken trust and contact.

Lip transforms into hawk
Lip, and Demetri were always beaten and made them feel like losers. Lip had enough. Well, he was called lip for the cleft lip he had. Watching Johnny bring something like karate to the public, he made his choice. He joined cobra kai as HAWK.
Yup, colored hair, hawk eye, eagle attitude, we have a new yet old character HAWK. Seeing this, Demetri couldn’t believe his eyes that his friend was now the coolest person in high school. That’s an achievement HAWK! But keep calm on the attitude, too much of it will push people away from you.
Miguel beats ass galore in the lunchroom
Miguel saves Samantha from her ex’s wrong claims. For dumping him, Kyler wrongly announces how she forced him into doing adultery. The whole lunchroom becomes a show-room. Upon confrontation, Samantha gets pushed.
Not in front of Miguel, you cannot do that.
Beating faces, food tray slashed in Kyler’s stooges faces, thrift kicks in the ribs, and what now. But the beating stays on until the bully finally gives up and the principle steps in to stop the fight.
Don’t worry, nobody got hurt badly. Just a lesson needed to be learned. GO MIGUEL!

Aisha destroys Yasmin
Bullied for weight, betrayed by best friend Samantha, Yasmin needs to learn a lesson for all the rude treatment she gave Aisha.
This is no more the old, scared Aisha who will take a NO for an answer. The new, karate beater, natural cobra Aisha is someone you don’t want to mess with in no case. Once Aisha learns her birthday spot was taken by Aisha and her group, she confronts her by saying,

Okay now my favourite scene from whole of cobra kai. Mr. Miyagi was a true person. He trained Daniel La Russo, fought with him, for him and made him a stronger minded person with better personality. Daniel visits his grave and thanks him for everything he had done. Not to forget, he also shares his daily practical problems, hoping a voice will help him.

This is one of the absolute classic that I feel every teenager should watch. The two teenagers, Alyssa and James run away from their home in the car of James’s father. Both were abused, less loved and wanted to escape from the world. But the challenges that awaited these young lovers were inexplicit. JAMES KILLS A BOOTH AUTHOR, BONNIE LOVES HIM.
Now bonnie, after getting released from jail, wants to find ALYSSA, who she thinks murdered her lover. The rest is history. Gunshots, false claims, theft, teenagers making mistakes; this is the story of 21st century ROMEO AND JULIET.
Number 9 Jane the Virgin
Jane’s mother had her at an early age of sixteen years old. Now Jane’s grandmother stops her from making the same mistake and promises to abandon her if something happens similar to the situation.
Hear me out when I tell you the surrogacy goes wrong with JANE, RAFAEL and his wife’s surrogate. Now the funny thing about this series is the NARRATOR. HE LINKS, THINKS and GIVES PROVEN POINTS FOR BOTH, Jane and Rafael. The series is a classic Venezuela telenovela story when there are so many unanswered questions.
Number 8 Derry Girls
Most underrated Ireland girl’s story, Derry Girls is a mix of teenagers finding love, romance, fighting crime and visualizing the statements given by their favourite president, Joe Biden.
Personally, I think it is one of the best sitcoms of Netflix comedy series. It is an Irish 1960s war series largely dependent on the critics that took place in those years. The series depicts hilarity alongside terrorism, young romance, and everything that we can notice nowadays in teenagers.
Number 7 Shameless
If you are thinking of moving to America without money, watch this show to change your mind. Shameless is an utter depiction of ‘being poor in America’ with hilarity, chuckles and what not. From what I presume, this season and the number 2 season (that I will tell later in this video so keep watching) are stories of rich and poor people who cannot wait to move out of their restricted life.
Everything in this show comes with a touch of fun, humor and everyday life related norms!
Number 6 American Vandal
American vandal is too funny to be dark. The story is real but the jokes are funnier. The series will put a lot of impression on where the story of a small-town boy began, how he evolved through the changes, the high school life, everything is well-produced, the script is funny so you don’t get bored, all the cast’s personalities click. You know what you might be missing if you are not watching this.
Number 5 Unbreakable Kimmy Schidmt
Strong, independent, and unbreakable, kimmy schidmt is truly not-so-sunny. The cast is not-so-bright emotionally but they are ready to help kimmy focus on the wider aspects of life like finding the most outdated slang of this century or how to kill a robot sleeping with your HUSBAND (if you have any!)
Number 4 Brooklyn NINE-NINE
Comedy with a touch of everyday crime solving stories, ladies and gentlemen, girls and boys, sit back and hold on your tummies for the most laughable series of 21st century, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE. Ray is an eccentric who is set up with an odd group of people, solving crimes in New York City, America. The acting is delivered PUURFECTLY.

Number 1 Friends
The forever loved, unmatchable, and unthinkable humor among six friends living in the same building for over eleven years makes it the most watchable series. FRIENDS, a mix of love, care, HUMOR, HUMOR, HUMOR! I don’t know how to stress this enough but TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU THIS,
FRIENDS, IT IS UNMATCHED.

Cobra Kai, the Karate Kid’ Sequel Series is the best around at channeling that ‘80s Machismo.
Season 2, the series escalates into a full-blown, rib-cracking collection of flying fists and bruised egos.

Cobra Kai has quickly become one of Netflix’s most popular original TV series. Here at Black Slate Studios, we’re going to take a closer insiders look at this iconic series.
Let’s get started with some awesome behind the scenes trivia!
During the original Karate Kid movie shoot, late director John Avildsen shot hours of tournament footage from multiple angles. The crew behind Cobra Kai searched the studios vault and found a ton of never-before-seen clips, which they were able to introduce into the series via flashbacks.
Daniel’s car in season 2 is the actual same 1947 Ford Super Deluxe car from the first movie. The spirit of Mr. Miyagi lives on in the second season of “Cobra Kai” through his love of vintage cars. In the new series, Daniel LaRusso uncovers the vintage convertible that his teacher had him wax in order to instill in him the muscle memory that would be translated into defensive karate blocks. Now, Miyagi-Do Karate student Robby is the one applying the wax and doing chores to learn martial arts. This isn’t just any prop car though. It’s the original yellow Ford that was featured in the films and owned by Macchio himself.
In interviews, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka state that even though most of the scenes they were in together for the original Karate Kid, they were either arguing or Macchio was “getting his ass kicked”, they were friendly and had a lot of fun on set.
Johnny lives in the Reseda Heights apartments. This apartment complex and its location are made to resemble Daniel’s apartment complex in the original Karate Kid, complete with identical paint and coloring on the lettering. This also references the discrimination Daniel experienced in the first movie for being from Reseda instead of a richer part of LA like Johnny and Ali, and is meant to illustrate how low Johnny has descended since the original film.
In real life, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka became friends after the original Karate Kid film was completed and became a hit. Macchio said that they became even closer friends after Noriyuki “Pat” Morita (Mr. Miyagi) passed away in 2005. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka were also 80s teen heartthrobs, with Zabka usually being depicted as ‘the bad boy”.
Most of the Cobra Kai students were named after members of the crew.
One of the executive producers is Will Smith, who also served as a producer of the 2010 reboot, which starred Smith’s son Jaden.
Most of the Cobra Kai students have experience in martial arts as actual black belts or advanced trained dancers.
There’s a long standing belief that Daniel (Ralph Macchio) was the true antagonist of the original Karate Kid movie. This is due to the fact that he seems to instigate all the confrontations that ultimately result in him getting beaten up. This argument seems to be further strengthened in Cobra Kai, as he seems almost insulted that Johnny has reopened the Cobra Kai dojo. Despite this being an obvious attempt by Johnny to improve his life, Daniel goes to great lengths to have the dojo fail and get closed down.
During the scene when Johnny and his original Cobra Kai friends are in the bar, Johnny says that Tommy gave him a run for his money in the ’83 tournament’s final match. However, in the original Karate Kid film, the tournament announcer says that Johnny and Tommy’s other friend and former Cobra Kai member, Bobby Brown, was the runner-up to Johnny in the previous year (1983), meaning that Tommy never made it to the finals.
Despite his death in 2005, Pat Morita who played Mr. Miyagi in the previous four Karate Kid movies, is still part of the series. He is mentioned occasionally and seen in flashback sequences. The fifth episode is dedicated to his memory. A body double is also used in a season 2 episode showing Mr. Miyagi building his backyard.

Initially, Spielberg was on board to direct the first Harry Potter film, but he dropped out after a few months of working on the movie. Emma Watson’s Audition Process Was Stressful
During the casting process for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the film’s team went to schools all over England searching for the perfect young actors to play the movie’s lead trio. Watson had never professionally acted at that time, and was super nervous to be among the group of 20 or so girls at her school to audition for the part of Hermione. She admitted she was intimidated by the other girls, who had more acting experience than her and seemed to bond with the boys auditioning for Harry better, but she felt the part was perfect for her.
Producers Actually Trained Owls To Carry Letters
One of the biggest undertakings in bringing the world of Harry Potter to life was training owls to deliver mail. The process took months, but the production team was able to reliably get owls to carry letters to the actors. To add even more realism, the production team hand-wrote all of those Hogwarts acceptance letters the owls brought to the Dursley house in the first film.
Harry Never Casts A Spell In The First Movie
For being one of the greatest wizards ever, Harry really does not have an impressive showing in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. As wild as it sounds, Harry really does not cast a single spell in the entirety of the first movie. Sure, he makes the glass at the zoo disappear and he learns to fly a broom, but no magic ever comes from his wand.

Felton was not always going to play the bad guy. Originally, he revealed, he auditioned to play Harry Potter and then Ron Weasley, and only landed the role of Draco after both of those lead roles went to Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
Tom Felton Improvised Draco’s Funniest Line
Potterheads have Felton to thank for one of the film franchise’s shining moments. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry uses Polyjuice Potion to transform into Draco Malfoy’s crony Goyle, but accidentally wears his own signature glasses, prompting Draco to ask about them. When “Goyle” responds that the glasses are for reading, Draco hilariously says, “I didn’t know you could read.” Later on, Felton revealed he made that line up on the spot because he could not remember his actual line.
Eddie Redmayne Was Almost In The Original Franchise
Redmayne stars in the Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts series as Newt Scamander, but he actually nearly entered the magical world years earlier. Redmayne revealed that he auditioned to play Tom Riddle for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, but did not get a callback.
Tom Riddle Has A Different Name In Each Translation Of The Movies
The most important twist in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is that the name Tom Marvolo Riddle is an anagram for “I am Lord Voldemort.” In order to make that wordplay work in languages besides English, Rowling and the movie team gave Riddle different names in several other languages. One of the silliest is that, in French, Tom Riddle’s name is Tom Elvis Jedusor, which rearranges to “Je suis Voldemort.”
Hugh Grant Was Supposed To Play Gilderoy Lockhart
Hogwarts’ most self-involved Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher almost had a totally different look. Hugh Grant was originally cast in the part, but had to step away from the movie, reportedly due to scheduling conflicts with his 2002 rom-com Two Weeks Notice, so Kenneth Branagh instead won the role.
12. The Actors Had A Perfect Homework Assignment
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was the first time that the franchise changed directors, and Alfonso Cuarón assigned the three leads the perfect task to try to get to know them and their characters even better. Cuarón tasked Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint to write an essay about their own characters. Their responses perfectly mirrored their characters: Radcliffe turned in a one-page essay that got to the heart of Harry, Watson totally overachieved with 16 pages on Hermione, and Grint blew off the assignment altogether, noting it was “quite Ron-ish not to do it.”
